This year, Vinayaka Chaturthi will be celebrated on May 23, 2023. According to Drik Panchang, Chaturthi Tithi will start at 11:18 pm on May 22 and end at 0:57 am on May 24, 2023.

The Vinayaka Chaturthi occasion is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm across the country. On this occasion, devotees observe a whole day fast to seek the blessings of the deity for a healthy and happy life. Worshiping Lord Ganesha is believed to bring fortune and prosperity to life. According to Drik Panchang, Lord Ganesha is worshiped with all sixteen rituals along with chanting of Puranik Mantras during Ganesha Chaturthi Puja which is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi Puja. Worshiping gods and goddesses with the 16 rituals is known as Shodashopachara Puja.

To observe Vinayaka Chaturthi, first, get up early in the morning, clean your house, take a holy bath and wear clean clothes. If you have Lord Ganesha installed in your home and worshiped on a daily basis, Avahana and Pratishthapana should be omitted as these two rituals are performed for newly purchased statues of Lord Ganesha, whether they are made of clay or metal. It should be noted that the pre-installed statues of Lord Ganesha in the home are not given visarjan but Utthapan at the end of Puja.
