- Vira Sathidar was born and brought up in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
- He was an active participant in the Ambedkarite movement in Maharashtra and coordinator of the Indian People’s Theater Association.
- He was also the editor of the Marathi magazine ‘Vidrohi’.
- In 2015, he played an important role as teacher and social activist Narayan Kamble in the Marathi film Court. The film received the National Award and was selected as India’s official entry to the 2016 Oscars.
