The visiting ceremony was reportedly held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Jamaal Bowman, who is a congressman, took to Twitter after learning of Dr. Nakita Mortimer’s passing, writing: “Sending love and prayers to Dr. Nakita Mortimer’s family. She was a resident anesthesiologist at Montefiore and a powerful labor organizer for racial equity in medicine. We will continue to fight for mental health support so no more precious lives are lost.
