Blum commented: “We’ve written multiple scripts and we’ve gotten to the point where we’re spinning a needle that honors Five Nights at Freddy’s and pleases Scott Cawthon. I have no right to do something Scott doesn’t like. Basically, Scott has a similar ‘final cut’ right, and it’s taken me longer than I expected to get the story right.”
