Which motorcycles? Hondurans race horses

A group of ‘pateplumas’ that is dedicated to raising livestock has shown in the last few hours how the competitions are performed in the west of the country.

Through TikTok, user @alexizeron960 shared this Friday a clip of the horse race he does in his native Azacualpa, Santa Bárbara.

In the video of just 12 seconds you can see two competitors standing at the starting line, waiting for the signal and running down the straight until they reach the champion’s finish line.

According to Alex’s old tiktoks, these are traditional competitions held in the Catracho people, where it is more common for the majority to travel on horses.

In less than 24 hours the clip already has more than 11 thousand views and has comments such as: “here we don’t use motorcycles, we use horses” and “this is my beautiful land.”
