Who Is Fraser Thomson?

A Sydney man who had been detained multiple times earlier in the month on suspicion of violating orders prohibiting apprehended violence was later charged with attempted murder after reportedly breaking into the home of his on-again, off-again lover. Following his Tuesday arrest at the Kellyville residence of his ex-partner Lauren Salamakis, Fraser Alexander Thomson, 41, was scheduled to appear before Parramatta Local Court. When he entered her house early on Tuesday morning, Mr. Thomson claimed to have violated a protection from abuse order. Police said that after entering the house and brandishing a machete at the occupants, he got physical with Ms. Salamakis’ ex-husband, Paul Salamakis, who was dozing on a sofa downstairs.

Mr. Salamakis is said to have been stabbed, suffering injuries to his hands, and was brought to Westmead Hospital for care. Mr. Salamakis held Mr. Thomson in place until the police arrived and took him into custody. Before being brought to Castle Hill Police Station, where he was charged with a number of offenses, he was taken to the hospital under police protection. He is accused of breaking into a house, causing serious bodily harm, particularly aggravated break and enter, committing a major indictable offense, and violating an AVO ban or restriction.

In accordance with court records, Mr. Thomson, of North Kellyville, was initially detained and charged on August 3 with four charges of stalking or threatening with the intent to cause Ms Salamakis physical or mental harm. He was detained again on August 6 and August 12, for violating a domestic violence arrest order twice in the span of a week. He is accused of violating the same AVO once more when he allegedly visited Ms. Salamakis’ house on Tuesday morning. On Wednesday, he was scheduled to appear in Parramatta Local Court; however, the case was resolved without his presence. Stay tuned with us to know the latest news.
