Amritpal Singh’s assistant Papalpreet Singh arrested
Reports indicate that on Monday 10 April 2023, Punjab police in a joint operation arrested a pro-Khalistani sympathizer, a trusted aide to Amritpal Singh from rural Amritsar. Following this arrest, the senior police officer states that “Our teams have spearheaded a search operation for the past 3 days after obtaining the key details regarding the location of Papalpreet in the Dasuya area. After a lot of effort, we finally stopped him and hopefully we will stop Amritpal Singh soon.” Now, after his arrest, people want to see Amritpal Singh behind bars.
Note that Papalpreet and Amritpal had been on the run since March 18, 2023 when the Punjab Police Department launched a crackdown on both of them. Singh and his aides have been featured in many criminal cases involving growing class disharmony, assaults on police personnel, assassination attempts, and obstruction of the lawful performance of duty by police officers and other public servants. Who is Papalpreet Singh?
As we already mentioned above, Papalpreet Singh is considered to be the most trusted assistant and a mentor of Amritpal. The police also believed that he is the mastermind of the fugitive Amritpal and surely knows where he is now. He has allegedly advised him on many issues. According to police reports, Papalpreet was in contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, from where he was receiving instructions to increase Khalistan’s terror in Punjab. He too was arrested in 2015 after the police linked him to the ISI.
He calls himself a reporter based in Amritsar, Punjab, who allegedly runs a website called “Punjab Shield”. This website is basically a Khalistani propaganda site. He is currently facing 4 criminal cases. He also reportedly received an income tax notice to indicate the source of ₹4.48 lakhs which was credited to his bank account.
