Who killed Israel Powell? missing found dead
On Friday, July 7, 2023, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office recovered a body from Jamieson Lake, which is located at the intersection of Hacks Cross Road and East Holmes Road. The body is reportedly alleged to be that of Israel Powell, a three-year-old boy from Memphis who lost his life. In addition, his sister, who is four years old, was found alive and was rushed to Le Bonheur Methodist Germantown, a local hospital. Since the evening of July 6, 2023, Israel Powell has been missing, and his mother was the first to notice that her children were missing during the early hours of Friday, July 7, 2023, and alerted authorities thereafter. Police officers had already received a 911 call reporting the location of the children at around 1 a.m. local time that day. The search mission for the children continued until the body was recovered by the authorities at 1:00 p.m. The coroner has reportedly not formally identified the recovered body as Israel Powell. Although authorities have recovered a body that appears to match Israel Powell’s description, it has yet to be officially confirmed by the official medical examiner.

Powell was last seen on Laurel Springs Drive and is described as a male child with brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and multicolored socks. He is 2 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 35 pounds approx. In addition, residents of the area have expressed their shock and horror at the incident. Another resident, Angela Majors, saw her children at 1 am on her doorbell camera. The neighbor immediately alerted authorities via a 911 call. However, the search for the missing children was coordinated by multiple law enforcement agencies. They also used all-terrain vehicles, mobile command centers and a small boat to help search the neighborhood. At the moment, the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
