Piñeiro’s death was reported on November 29, after having been hospitalized for two days after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke.
The incident was discovered after a friend could not contact him and they had to force entry to his residence, where Piñeiro was found with low vital signs and only his four dogs in the house.

So far there are no clear details about who specifically scammed Ricardo Piñeiro; However, in several interviews it was mentioned that thanks to that, he stayed away from the fashion industry in Argentina for more than ten years.
“I was the victim of a huge scam in which I lost everything, but everything, even my name. I must assume that I was partly to blame and not deny what happened to me,” said Ricardo.
It should be noted that in the same interview, he described himself as an idealist and also a terrible businessman.
“The world of models is gone. I did everything I wanted until I was fed up. I am no longer interested in fashion at all because I am happier as a volunteer in the Slave Sisters of the Sacred Heart church,” he said in 2023.
