Why did Jacob Pratt commit suicide?
According to authorities, the man jumped from the 14th floor of the building around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. Police reportedly received multiple calls of an unconscious person near the building at 111 Eighth Ave, and when officers arrived at the location they found the man and took him to Bellevue Hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival. Handprints were found near the edge of an outdoor terrace on the 14th floor, but there was no indication that there was video of the incident or a suicide note left behind by the victim.
The victim, Dezirae Andersen, was found dead after falling from the roof of the OYO Times Square hotel on West 47th Street. Police said she got into a physical fight with her boyfriend, Tyler Griffin, just before the fatal fall. Police were originally called to the hotel on reports that Griffin assaulted Andersen in her hotel room. Andersen, on the other hand, fell from all 10 stories of the building and landed on scaffolding above the street.
