Microsoft has officially discontinued the Internet Explorer browser. The web browser was introduced as part of the Plus! add-on pack for Windows 95 in 1995. Later versions were available as free downloads or service packs, and were included with Windows 95 and later OEM service releases.

Why is Microsoft shutting down Internet Explorer?
Microsoft 365 will stop supporting Internet Explorer on August 17, 2021, and Microsoft Teams will stop supporting Internet Explorer on November 30, 2020. Reports indicate that Internet Explorer will be discontinued on June 15, 2022.
Sean Lyndersay, Microsoft Edge programming manager, stated that “the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge.”
“Microsoft Edge is not only faster, more secure, and more modern than Internet Explorer,” he said, “but it also addresses a major concern: compatibility with legacy and legacy websites and apps.”
