Why Not Move Abroad? Bengaluru Techie Gives 7 Reasons He Ignored The Inevitable IT Move

It is a surprise to no one that Indian IT professionals have a strong presence in the West, especially in the US. These techies are sought after by the biggest companies in Silicon Valley for their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong work ethic.

So, it is only right to assume that most Indian techies who study at prestigious institutes in India are gearing up for a move abroad once they get a chance to shift lanes.

Indian Software Engineers End Up Chasing The ‘American Dream’

Bengaluru Techie Gives Reasons For Not Moving To USPexel

The Indian software engineer often ends up chasing the American dream. However, one Bengaluru techie who decided to stay back in India is coming forward to give people his reasons for choosing India over the foreign dream.

It is well known that IT professionals have relatively easier access to opportunities that can help them move overseas. However, if these professionals do decide to stay back in India, it is often seen as a sign of their incompetence and their apathy to the “grind.”

But for one techie, staying in India was simply a matter of logic. Software Engineer at Google, Aanshul Sadaria, shared his reasons for choosing India over living abroad.

Back in 2021, Sadaria lost his father and wanted to stay close to his family. This set him back and pushed aside any plans of moving abroad as he preferred to stay closer to his family than be divided by oceans and time zones.

He also admitted that his decision was in no case a concrete no to the idea. The engineer says that eventually, he might go live in the States for a few years as he is a travel enthusiast but knows that he would eventually come back to his roots and settle down in India.

Sadaria stated his for staying back. He feels that maintaining a standard of living in India is easier with things like lower rent costs as compared to America. He adds, “Private education is cheaper here. Public education is better there.”

He mentions how healthcare in India is “cheaper and better.” While he has heard that the work culture in the US is better by miles, he says if you work in a big MNC in India the gap would not seem that different.

Lately, I have seen a lot of Indian techies returning back to their home country for various reasons ranging from social to compulsive ones like visa. ✈️Having said that, I would like to work in Europe for a few years but strongly see myself coming back to India for good.
