2 arrested in North Port shooting
When police were called for an incident on Cincinnati Street, they discovered a victim who was severely injured and unable to speak. An RV trailer at the site was struck by the victim’s black GMC pickup, according to a witness. According to the police report, the victim was later transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for treatment. At a 7-11 convenience store in the Publix shopping center on Toledo Blade Blvd., she quickly found the perpetrators of the crime. The North Port Police Department arrested a 41-year-old man from Dade City named William Walker and a 41-year-old woman from Zephyrhills named Gillian Eichenlaub.
William Walker Arrested on Aggravated Assault Charges
Walker is charged with several crimes, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied home or car, tampering with evidence, drug possession and felony possession of firearms. Eichenlaub, for his part, is accused of tampering with evidence and being an accomplice to the act. The victim, who was driving a black GMC pickup truck, reportedly crashed into a fence, striking an RV trailer that was parked on the property. After that, Walker, the suspect, is said to have exited the trailer and fired a revolver at the truck.
Eichenlaub also left the trailer, according to the witness, and both suspects drove away from the site in a white Ford F150 pickup. The witness added that once Walker and Eichenlaub left, the victim entered a home on the site. The black GMC pickup had five bullet holes in it and there were several shells near the door of the mobile home, according to the report. Investigators also discovered two unique tire tracks, which suggested the truck had accelerated just before it hit the mobile home. The identification of the victim of the North Port shooting has not been made public. However, it has been established that the victim is making a full recovery from the injuries he sustained in the incident.
