Reddit user qirad said the employer made the decision when the individual was unable to get to work on time due to a delay in trying to save someone’s life.

One morning, the woman was headed to work when a fellow passenger on the opposite side of her car experienced a medical emergency.

With an up-to-date First Aid + CPR certification, he didn’t hesitate to help, despite being in his work uniform. After successfully administering CPR and ensuring the individual was breathing again, she cooperated with arriving paramedics and police and provided a statement regarding the incident.

Due to the presence of a “biological hazard” on the train, the service was cancelled, resulting in an additional hour of waiting. He quickly informed his workplace about the delay, hoping for understanding given the circumstances.

However, upon arriving at work, she found herself summoned to a meeting with her boss and Human Resources.

Despite presenting evidence, including police officer details and screenshots of the station’s website confirming the incident, she was unexpectedly fired on the grounds that providing CPR in uniform created a “negative image” for the company.

While one declined after she requested anonymity, another expressed interest and scheduled a phone interview for the next day.
