Woman stabs three people, including a police officer and a taxi driver, at the Atlanta airport

A knife-wielding woman allegedly stabbed three people, including a police lieutenant, inside Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Wednesday, according to authorities.

Terrifying footage showed the woman, identified by WSBTV as Damaris Milton, 44, waving her sword at approaching officers as the travelers stood just feet away from her, separated only by glass.

Police were alerted around 4:45 p.m. about an armed woman standing outside security near the south terminal of the airport, which operates domestic flights.

Milton’s alleged stabbing spree began when she attacked her taxi driver upon arrival at the airport, before police attempted to keep her in one area and “limit her movement.”

When police tried to convince Milton to drop the knife, she allegedly stabbed an airport employee and an APD lieutenant in the leg.

All three victims are in stable condition and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A woman allegedly stabbed three people, including a police officer, inside an Atlanta airport. Moments before Milton stabbed two people, she stabbed his taxi driver upon arriving at the airport, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Milton was arrested and taken into custody following the stabbings.

“There doesn’t seem to be a connection between her and them. [victims], but that is something we will be investigating,” said Atlanta Police Sgt. Juan Chafee.

“At some point charges will be filed,” Chafee said as police are still figuring out what prompted Milton to lash out.

Sarah Nagem of Raleigh, North Carolina, said she heard someone say, “Get on the ground, get on the ground,” the Journal-Constitution reported.

Nagem said he never saw the suspect, but someone ordered him to stay on the ground and said, “They [airport staff] “They were trying to reassure us that, you know, we were safe, that it wasn’t someone trying to create random violence.”
