2023 New York Marathon: How celebrities like Amy Robach and TJ Holmes fared

He put ice on them.

Former NHL player Zdeno Chára beat out several other celebrities running the 2023 New York City Marathon on Sunday.

Chára, 46, finished the race in 3 hours, 19 minutes and 19 seconds, beating big names like TJ Holmes, Nev Schulman, Patina Miller and more.

The long-running race begins in Staten Island and sends runners through New York’s four other boroughs before concluding in Central Park near the West 60.

Here’s a look at how the celebrities fared on their 26.2-mile journey.

Matt James

Season 25 “Bachelor” Matt James, 31, finished the race in 4 hours, 46 minutes and 42 seconds.

The former college football wide receiver, who made history as the ABC show’s first black male lead, recently showed off on his Instagram the nine pairs of running shoes he wore to train for the marathon.

She revealed that this was her second time competing and that she is applying for ABC Food Tours, which takes children from underserved elementary schools to restaurants.

“The Bachelorette,” “Grocery Store” contestants Joe Amabile, 37, and Zac Clark, 39, completed the race in less than 4 hours.

Sheinelle Jones

“Today” show correspondent Sheinelle Jones, 45, made her marathon debut on Sunday, finishing in 4 hours, 41 minutes and 19 seconds.

“I want to show that only the average girl can do it,” Jones said in August on the NBC show. “She is 4 feet 11 inches tall. I am not a model. I’m not a runner, but we can do it!”

Amy Robach and TJ Holmes

Disgraced “Good Morning America” hosts Amy Robach, 50, and TJ Holmes, 46, finished together in 4 hours, 14 minutes and 39 seconds.

The former TV personalities reportedly began their shocking romance while training for a half marathon last year.

Miller Patina

Broadway star Patina Miller, 38, finished the race in 4 hours and 36 seconds.

The actress, who starred in the revival of Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods,” pulled double duty Sunday singing the national anthem before joining her fellow runners.

Miller ran in support of Komera, which aims to help girls in rural Rwanda.

Lucas Macfarlane

“Brothers & Sisters” alum Luke Macfarlane, 43, made his marathon debut on Sunday, running in support of Beyond Type 1, which helps diabetes patients through advocacy, education and cure research.

Macfarlane crossed the finish line after 4 hours, 36 minutes and 37 seconds.

Nev Schulman

MTV reality star Nev Schulman completed his seventh New York Marathon in 4 hours, 17 minutes and 23 seconds.

The “Catfish” host, 39, applied this year as a guide for a visually impaired athlete.

Schulman is sponsored by Achilles International, which encourages athletes with disabilities.

Harry Hudson
