What happened in China?
At a daycare center in China, a teacher’s actions sparked controversy when she forced a 6-year-old boy to eat his own vomit, according to a report in the South China Morning Post.
The incident, captured on video and shared on social media, showed the teacher feeding the boy mashed food after he vomited pumpkin pieces after a large meal.
The images have generated strong criticism from users.
When did the incident occur?
The incident occurred on September 15, the boy’s birthday, at Maluwan Kindergarten in Liaoning province, China.
The boy’s father, surnamed Zhang, stated that his son had dressed in new clothes for his birthday, but when he returned home from school, his clothes were dirty.
The boy’s grandparents were informed of the distressing incident when the boy told what had happened to him at school. Her parents filed a complaint against the teacher, accusing her of child abuse.
They revealed that their son had become ill because he was forced to eat a whole pumpkin on an empty stomach.
On October 13, the local education bureau officially confirmed the incident through its WeChat account after an investigation.
They ordered the school to apologize to parents and ordered the teacher’s dismissal.
In addition, the office pledged to launch a broader investigation into similar cases in preschools in the region and take measures to prevent mistreatment of students in educational institutions.
