The Airbus A350 plane had been flying across the Atlantic for two hours, en route from Georgia to Spain on Friday, when the pilot requested to return due to a problem related to feces.
The pilot mentioned this as a “biohazard issue,” as heard in the LiveATC.com recording that was also shared on X, formally Twitter. Over the radio, the pilot said, “We had a passenger who had diarrhea the entire way.” through the plane, that’s why they want us to return to Atlanta.”
While the identity of the passenger is unknown, both passengers and crew were relocated, and flight DL194 finally arrived in Barcelona at 5:10 pm the next day, eight hours later than originally planned, as reported by Flightradar24.

Passenger details unknown
It is unknown if the passenger with the digestive problem was still on the plane upon arrival in Spain. An alleged Federal Aviation Authority flight runway was shared on Reddit, seemingly confirming the presence of a “biohazard” situation throughout the plane.
After the plane landed in Atlanta, cleanup crews were able to give it a deep clean, as flight logs indicated its use for another flight.
Delta officials verified that a “medical issue” had occurred on the plane, requiring it to be diverted to Atlanta for cleaning.
A Delta spokesperson said: “Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to thoroughly clean the aircraft and get our customers to their final destination. “We sincerely apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans.”
