‘Abusive’ pregnant mother kicked off EasyJet flight after asking for help finding roof space

A seven-month pregnant mother was kicked off an EasyJet flight after an attendant called her “abusive” when she asked for help finding space for her bag in the overhead bin, resulting in everyone being kicked off the plane.

Siobhan Foster, her husband James and their special needs daughter, Florence, boarded a crowded EasyJet flight from Belfast, Ireland, to Ibiza on August 19 when a “grumpy” flight attendant kicked them out.

“I will NEVER fly with EasyJet again. I understand why people call them jet sleezy!” Foster, who was on her way to his brother’s wedding at the Mediterranean access point, wrote in a damning post on Facebook.

Foster had asked the flight attendant, who was not named, if there was “more space in the overhead lockers” and was told “clearly not.”

“You’ll have to find a place yourself even though there is literally no place,” Foster said the assistant responded.

But when Foster asked for help because she was very pregnant, the EasyJet employee allegedly told her: “You’re being abusive and it’s not my job to help you.”

Another flight attendant reportedly backed up her co-worker, but Foster argued that crew members had always helped her on other airlines.

“By writing this, I understand it would make you think I was being abusive, but I honestly wasn’t and the entire plane can vouch for me,” Foster wrote. “People were really putting this [Facebook] about how badly they treated me.”

Foster eventually found a place to put her carry-on luggage, but was then approached by two crew members who accused her of being aggressive. The mother of one of them said she ignored them because she was “crying” and “very upset.”

Moments later, she and her family were kicked off the flight by the “grumpy” flight attendant and another. When Foster’s mother and brother reportedly asked why they were being removed from the flight, they were told it was because of Foster’s assault.

“To say I was shocked was an understatement, I was in no way aggressive, the entire plane could see how she was behaving toward me,” Foster wrote.

Foster claimed they were then escorted out of the airport by police and then had to wait three hours to retrieve their checked luggage.

“So that whole day we were at Belfast airport from lunchtime until nine at night with our son, my legs were so swollen and sore from being on them all this time that I was crying uncontrollably because this was happening to us without no reason. .

“I am so traumatized that I don’t know how I will fly again,” she wrote on Facebook.

EasyJet has denied any wrongdoing and claimed Foster’s family were “behaving in a disturbing manner”, a spokesperson told the Daily Mail.

“EasyJet cabin crew and ground agents are trained to assess and evaluate all situations and act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at any time.

“The Captain made the decision to ask all the passengers on the flight to return to the terminal so that the situation could be resolved and as soon as that was the case, they boarded again and continued the plane to Ibiza.”

The plane was delayed at least four hours, according to Foster, and a new crew had to take over because the original crew made their allotted hours.

The Foster family arrived in Ibiza the next day, just in time for the wedding, after getting a Ryanair flight from Dublin.

“Luckily we arrived in Ibiza and attended my brother’s wedding to say how stressed, upset and overwhelmed I have been. I honestly don’t think I have words,” she wrote.

“EasyJet should be ashamed of itself and I will definitely go further. I am still in shock at how we were treated, especially being seven months pregnant and having a disabled child with us.
