It is estimated that the four people spirited away the humongous structure from Malad Back Road by dismantling the piece. The bridge was a makeshift solution placed over a nullah in June last year. The bridge was used to carry heavy electric cables for Adani Electricity to the area beyond the nullah.

In April of this year, a permanent bridge took its place after receiving the necessary permissions from authorities. The old bridge at the time was moved with the help of cranes and placed at the end of Malad Back Road to be carted away.

However, on any other day in June, the bridge vanished from its place, leaving everyone scratching their heads. There are also no cameras around where the bridge was placed on the Malad Back Road, which made it even more difficult to figure out what came off the bridge.

According To The FIR, The Bridge Was Worth Rs 2 Lakh

On June 26, the representatives of Adani Electricity found out that the bridge had been moved from its place. The last time it was seen at the spot was on June 6. Soon, an official FIR was registered. In the report, the value of the iron structure has been pegged at Rs 2 Lakh.

With the footage captured from the rest of the Back Road cameras, police gathered that a large vehicle had moved in the direction of the bridge on June 11. When the vehicle was tracked down, it turned out that it was carrying gas-cutter machines, which were used to dismantle the iron bridge.

Among the four people who have been held by the police, one person belonged to the firm that had been given the contract to construct the bridge.
