Atanu Das is an Indian archer. He represents India in men’s singles recurve. Atanu made his international debut in 2008 through the World Junior Championships. He received the Arjuna award from President Ram Nath Kovind in the year 2020. He is currently working in the Sports Promotion Board of Bharat Petroleum (BPCL).

Atanu Das was born on April 5, 1992 to Amit Das and Arati Das in Kolkata, West Bengal. He completed his studies from Baranagar Narendranath Vidyamandir, Kolkata. Atanu graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Vinayaka Mission University, Salem, Tamil Nadu. He was interested in archery and, at the age of 14, he joined an archery academy in Calcutta to further his skill.

Career
From 2008 onwards, Atanu began representing India internationally starting with the World Junior Championships where he won his first medal by winning Bronze. In 2010, she won a gold medal at the 33rd National Youth Archery Championships. In 2011, she won a silver medal on the men’s junior recurve team at the World Junior Championships.
In 2013, Atanu won 3 bronze medals at the Asian Archery Grand Prix held in Thailand. In 2014, she won a silver medal at the National Senior Archery Championships. She represented India at the Rio Olympics. He was the only archer registered in the event. In 2019, he won a bronze medal in 3 events at the Asian Archery Championships and a silver medal at the World Archery Championships held in the Netherlands.
