According to police reports, as many as twenty patients with rubber bullet injuries were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. BNP supporters are said to have set fire to a bus and a police checkpoint outside Dhaka’s largest Catholic church, sparking hostilities between security forces and opposition protesters. There were also reportedly attacks on a police hospital. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir claimed that the protest against the Bangladesh government was not violent and that they were brutally attacked by security forces. “It was a peaceful demonstration. However, the police have ruined our demonstration with undue force. They brutally attacked our people,” he remarked.
