An unexpected outcome arose from a dispute between a man and employees of a Chinese bank. Reports claim that after the argument, the man withdrew millions from his account and had employees count the money by hand.

The bank claimed it all started when the customer was advised to wear a mask, even though the man claims he did so in response to poor treatment.

According to Business Insider, the man, who goes by the online name “Sunwear,” shared his side of the story on the Chinese social media site Weibo.

He said that at a bank in Shanghai he got into a fight with security staff and was given the “worst customer service.” He then asked the bank to count the five million renminbi ($783,000) in cash he had withdrawn.

In a statement, the bank claimed that the customer’s refusal to wear a mask and comply with COVID-19 rules was the catalyst for the discussion.

Once again, Sunwear posted on Weibo to say that it had lost its mask that day and needed a backup.

Furthermore, he emphasized that he never had any qualms about using it.
