Boss Bamboozled By Drunk Text From Employee, Here’s What Happened Next

Any employee would attest to it when I say we have all had our fair share of awkward run-ins with our bosses. Whether it be bumping into them on a weekend or accidentally oversharing during a meeting, it is hard to escape the inevitable moment where an employee would have to facepalm themselves back to their senses.

Well, these examples are still mild representations of some of the bizarre faux pas workers often commit in front of their bosses. One employee crossed all borders and executed the ultimate mistake of picking up their phone after getting drunk.

However, things did not go exactly how anyone would imagine. Siddhant Minocha, the boss in this scenario, took to Twitter to share how one of his subordinates surprised him by texting him one fine day under the influence at 2 AM in the morning.

He was surprised because, unlike most average employees, this one did not shower their boss with a slew of curse words and insults. Rather, the employee complimented and thanked him for his guidance.

In their drunken state, the employee proclaimed on a Whatsapp text that they were indeed drunk. After giving a quick disclaimer, the worker thanked the boss for trusting them and pushing them harder. The drunk employee also noted how finding a “good” boss is way harder to come by than a “good” company.

Giving a final boost to their boss’ self-image, the employee ordered Minocha to appreciate himself more. And with that the employee bid a cheeky goodbye, leaving the boss rather impressed. Siddhant shared the messages on Twitter (or X) and marked how it was unusual to get a drunk text from an employee.

Drunk text from ex is okay but have you ever received drunk texts like these? pic.twitter.com/rvkaGMYqLl

Siddhant is an engineering lead at the internet marketing company, One Impression. He heads a team of 13 “high-energy” engineers who solve problems for content creators around the world. In a subsequent tweet, Siddhant revealed that he was the first tech guy to join the company and built his team from scratch.

For the last 24 months, this close-knit team has been working with him and the person who texted, Minocha says, is one of the best frontend engineers he has worked with. As for the folks on the internet, Siddhant became an instant hit. Seeing as the boss was clearly respected and loved by his subordinates, many people online wished how he was their boss and complimented his work.

You must be an amazing leader.
