A bride in Mexico was arrested for alleged extortion on her wedding day and taken to prison in her white dress before she could even cut the cake.
The suspect, identified by Mexican media only as Nancy N., was seen in images released Friday wearing a long white dress trimmed with lace, as well as a pair of handcuffs.
She was arrested and taken to the Prosecutor’s Office when she and her husband, Clemente N., arrived at the church for their ceremony at the end of December.
Her future husband, whose nickname is “Mouse,” is wanted on the same charges, however, he managed to escape.
The couple has been accused of extorting chicken merchants on December 22 in Toluca, near Mexico City.
They are also suspected of kidnapping four poultry farm workers.

According to authorities, six other people have also been arrested for their role in the scam.
One member of the group, Santiago N., was accused of “transporting the victims in a Ford Explorer pickup truck,” the state Attorney’s Office said.
