DBT ration card: Government starts Anna Bhagya scheme, when will the money arrive?

Latest news: The Siddaramaiah administration in Karnataka has set up an innovative program for ration card holders in a stunning attempt to expedite the delivery of critical goods to the underprivileged. The government wants to end the hassle of standing in long lines to collect ration supplies by using bank accounts linked to Aadhaar. Eligible families living below the poverty line (BPL) will now receive a direct transfer of Rs 170 into their bank accounts as part of the Anna Bhagya Yojana, giving them access to an additional 5 kg of rice. The allocation of food subsidies will now be more efficient and transparent thanks to this approach.

DBT ration card: money will come in the bank account

The beneficiaries of Antyodaya Anna Yojana in the state total Rs 1.28 crore ration card holders. Aadhaar’s number has been connected to 99 percent of them. Other than that, Rs 1.06 crore (82%) of Aadhaar recipients have active bank accounts. Through DBT, these people would get funds for an additional 5 kg of rice at a price of Rs 34 per kg. The bank accounts of the recipients will receive this money.

Government initiates Anna Bhagya plan

The previous method of collecting rations included difficult and time-consuming procedures. To get their benefits, beneficiaries had to physically travel to specific distribution locations, stand in long lines, and present their ration cards. The Anna Bhagya Yojana, which is being implemented, is addressing these issues, ensuring that the underprivileged have a hassle-free experience.

The Karnataka government offers free rice under the Anna Bhagya Yojana program. Accordingly, a commitment has been made to deliver 10 kg of rice to BPL category families every month. The federal government will provide 5 kg of the total 10 kg of rice. Anna Bhagya Yojana participants reap a number of benefits. First, it saves time and labor by eliminating the need for a physical presence at distribution locations. Instead, the money is immediately credited to the recipient’s bank account, allowing them to simply buy their rations at local retailers.
