“Dukes of Hazzard” star John Schneider denied calling for President Joe Biden to be “publicly hanged” on Thursday in a since-deleted viral tweet.
“Mr. President, I believe he is guilty of treason and should be publicly hanged,” wrote Schneider, 63, in the message that was captured by several media outlets. “Your son too,” he added, presumably about Hunter.
“Your answer is…? Sincerely, John Schneider,” she concluded.
The country singer reportedly wrote the tweet in response to The current president’s message., which says: “Trump poses many threats to our country: the right to choose, civil rights, the right to vote, and America’s standing in the world. But the biggest threat he poses is to our democracy. If we lose that, we lose everything.”
When contacted by The Post for comment, Schneider defended his words.
“Really, friends? This is my final comment on this. I neither said nor implied such a thing. Despite headlines claiming otherwise, in my post I absolutely did not call for an act of violence or threaten a US president like many other celebrities have done in the past. I suggest you re-read my post and pay attention to the words before believing this nonsense.”

He continued: “My position, which I am entitled to have, is that some of our nations’ leaders in Washington have lost their way and corruption is rampant, both within our nation’s borders and abroad. Transparency and accountability must occur for our constitutional republic to survive. There is no threat implied or otherwise in that statement. “
The Secret Service also told The Post in a statement: “The Secret Service is aware of comments made by Mr. Schneider and, as a matter of practice, we do not comment on matters related to protective intelligence. We can say, however, that the Secret Service investigates all threats related to our protectees.”
Schneider has never shied away from expressing his distaste for the 81-year-old president, stating in a tweet from october that he “financed Hamas’ barbaric and inhumane attack on Israel.”

In 2018, he told Fox News that there was “a bias against conservatives and Republicans in Hollywood,” which he believed was the reason he was serving prison time for not paying alimony to his ex-wife, the one who separated, Elvira Castle.
Schneider’s latest comment comes just a day after he came in second place as Donut on “The Masked Singer” behind R&B singer Ne-Yo, who was dressed as Cow for the show.
The actor said the Fox show is “really the glue that held me together over the past few months” as he mourns his wife, Alicia, who died of breast cancer in February.

“It was one of the shows that Alicia really wanted me to do,” Schneider told People. “She always said, ‘You have to do ‘The Masked Singer.’ I hoped that one day Alicia would be there to help…so when that opportunity came, I had to look up at the sky and laugh because of course she still runs things, but further afield. And then when they said, ‘We’d like you to be a Donut.'”
He continued, “Every Saturday, Alicia would go to our local donut shop and buy me a bag of apple fritters. And I would eat one, just one, but donuts had been a part of my life. For a long time, they were part of the marriage and relationship between Alicia and me. Then again they said, ‘Donut,’ and I just had to look up at the sky and say, ‘Well, of course.’ This is you. It has to be you.’”
