Elixir of youth? Millionaire obsessed with ‘staying young’ sells ‘longevity’ oil at Rs 3,100 a bottle

Bryan Johnson, millionaire and founder of Braintree, is focused on staying young for a long time. He is 45 years old, but he says his heart is like that of a 37-year-old and his lungs work like those of an 18-year-old.

Johnson reportedly achieved this through his “biohacking” experiment. He now sells a special type of olive oil called “longevity” extra virgin olive oil. It costs $37.5 per bottle, which is around Rs. 3,100.

Johnson says its olive oil, Blueprint Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), is made to help people stay healthy and live longer.

“We found in the scientific evidence that specific types of extra virgin olive oil are very important in terms of the health benefit that will be obtained.” was quoted by Business Insider.

As mentioned on his website, Bryan Johnson includes two tablespoons of EVOO in his daily diet, which makes up about 15 percent of his total daily caloric intake.

“We found in the scientific evidence that specific types of extra virgin olive oil are very important in terms of the health benefit that will be obtained,” the website stated.

“We’ve sourced from both hemispheres of the planet. It’s been so difficult to figure it out ourselves that we’ve decided to source this and make a brand available to you.”

Blueprint EVOO has a flavor described as “robust with a slightly spicy flavor and a smooth texture.” the added information.

However, one olive oil specialist mentioned that it does not seem any different from other fresh, high-quality and less expensive oils.

Dr. Selina Wang, an olive oil specialist and associate professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology at the University of California, Davis, told Business Insider: “I don’t see anything on this list that sets it apart from other fresh, good-quality, lower-priced EVOOs.”

He also recommended buying fresh olive oil and using it quickly for health benefits, as over time it loses antioxidants, which are believed to increase resistance against certain diseases.
