Elon Musk’s recent announcement about the appointment of a new CEO for Twitter came just one day after he mentioned the hiring of a new CEO without disclosing the person’s name.
Soon after, reports surfaced that Linda Yaccarino, president of NBCUniversal’s Global Advertising and Partnerships division, was in talks to take over as CEO of Twitter.
On Friday, prior to Musk’s confirmation, Yaccarino resigned from his position at NBCUniversal.

In December, Musk had already expressed his intention to step down as CEO of Twitter once he found a suitable successor.
He humorously said that he needed to find someone “dumb enough” to take the role. However, Musk, who also serves as CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, will retain control of Twitter and retain a significant stake in managing it.
Musk recently officially changed the name of the company to “X Corp.” as the parent entity of Twitter.
