The former FBI agent always avoids private rentals
At the age of 44, Tracy Walder has held positions as an FBI special agent and CIA officer. Her experiences in both roles have taught her the importance of taking extra precautions when working on assignments, particularly abroad.
Before embarking on any trip, Walder likes to conduct extensive research on his destination to assess potential terrorist threats. He also never forgets to download an app that can notify his contacts about his whereabouts in case of an emergency.
The Dallas criminal justice professor makes sure to put an Apple Air Tag in her luggage. She also makes her 8-year-old daughter wear a bracelet with a tracking device. When organizing her trips, she avoids booking private rentals, as she considers them “extremely dangerous and risky.”
She said SWNS“You’re really trusting someone you don’t know to stay at your house.”
Which hotel room should I choose?
After choosing a hotel, Walder requests a room located between the third and sixth floors. He mentioned that these rooms are close enough to the main floor for emergencies, but far enough away from potential intruders who might enter from the ground floor.
Walder adds: “When it comes to the floor level, there are two things: the first is to get in. Typically, someone who is trying to do harm will go the easiest way they can, and that would be to get in on the first floor as it is easiest. accessible.”
To get out, Walder says, “If you’re too high on the 20th or 21st floor, it’s going to be very difficult to get out quickly.”
