A retired Kentucky police officer was charged with rape and sodomy after he allegedly admitted to having sex with a 14-year-old victim on multiple occasions, and even purchasing a sex toy for the sick abuse.
David Roy Love, 69, of Radcliff, was arrested on Jan. 4 by Kentucky State Police following an investigation into the alleged pervert, local newspaper the News Enterprise reported.
Love reportedly admitted to the inappropriate relationship during a noncustodial interview, arrest records show.
The abuse began in early October, when the victim was only 13 years old, according to documents obtained by the newspaper.
The former police officer said he received and performed oral sex, engaged in other sexual acts and even purchased a sex toy to use during two or more encounters with the victim.
David Love, 69, was arrested in early January and released a day later after posting part of $25,000 bail.
In his mugshot, the six-foot-tall Love’s face appeared to be badly bruised and swollen, while his head was wrapped in gauze and bandages.
Sources told The Post that Love suffers from cancer and that her appearance in the mugshot was a side effect of the radiation treatment she was receiving.
The former officer also reportedly confessed to having child pornography on his personal tablet and sending it through Facebook. He then deleted it to hide evidence.
Love was charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sodomy and tampering with evidence. He was released from the Hardin County Detention Center the day after his arrest after posting part of $25,000 bail.
