Steve Bannon believes that expelling George Santos from Congress could fuel a Republican Party “civil war.”
The former White House adviser said in his on the War Room podcast Saturday that he believes former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and other anti-Trump Republicans masterminded Santos’ political demise.
“This is McCarthy to screw MAGA” Bannon said. “This is something that needs to be complicated,” current House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.).

The now-former representative of New York’s 3rd Congressional District also faces a 23-count federal indictment for allegedly laundering his campaign money and defrauding donors. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
