The new update is expected to be installed on October 24 and it is estimated that 1% of all cell phones worldwide will not be able to run this application from Mark Zuckerberg’s company Meta.
What are the cell phones that will not be able to update WhatsApp?
The WhatsApp update will affect devices with Android 4.1 and Android OS 4.4, which will no longer receive technical support and the messaging application will stop working on them.
In addition, it has been confirmed that the minimum requirements to run the Meta application on a mobile device will be an Android 5.0 or higher system.
WhatsApp is one of the most used applications in the world.
Likewise, the company has indicated that before stopping supporting an operating system on cell phones, it sends notifications to users through WhatsApp, recording them several times that they must update their operating system.
Also, they will periodically update a web page with the most recent operating systems that are compatible so that it is known to everyone.
