'He said yes': Daniel Sponda and Erika Urtecho announce their engagement

The head of Education in Honduras, Daniel Sponda and the representative of the Liberal Party (PL) for the department of Gracias a Dios, Erika Urtecho Echeverría.

In June 2023 they announced through X, before Twitter, that they found themselves in a romantic relationship.

“This Free man loves this fervent liberal,” Sponda wrote, in response to a message shared by the deputy, where she referred to their relationship.

“I don’t usually publish much about my personal life on social networks, but I want to share with you a joy. For months I have been working hand in hand with a man who serves with passion and that was the main quality that made me see how extraordinary he is. “Love comes when we least expect it and it is our task to take care of it, to be able to form what we all want: a home. Thank you Daniel Sponda for showing me that God gives us second chances to be happy,” the deputy wrote at the time.

Urtecho responded to the message that Sponda shared, when he announced his marriage commitment.

“Yes to love and Yes to life together! I love you!” wrote the liberal deputy.

It is worth mentioning that the photo that the minister shared, where the deputy is seen wearing her ring, had already been used, when she left a birthday celebration message to the head of Education.

Congratulatory messages for the couple were abundant and many wished the best in this new stage of the relationship.
