How Bard Can Help You Learn New Things and Stay Informed

The user experience team is focused on the various ways people use Bard. We’ve found in recent months that they use it for a variety of tasks, including resume writing, workout regimen creation, and vacation planning. And now that Bard is available in the majority of the world’s languages, even more people can utilize it to get things done.

If you’re new to Bard and don’t know where to begin, here are some methods to get started:

1. Discover something new

Get a crash course in any subject that interests you. For example, you may ask Bard for a tennis primer before your first lesson, or for quick facts about whales before going whale watching.

2. Examine photographs and generate text relating to them

Upload a photo and request that Bard share information about it or generate material based on it. Share a photo of handwritten notes you took during a meeting and ask Bard to use them to create a summary email. Alternatively, you can upload a photo from your most recent vacation and have Bard create a caption for it.

3. Write a draft

Bard can assist you in creating material such as emails, cover letters, blog entries, and business proposals. Begin with a simple question — such as “Write a cover letter for a social media manager role” — and Bard will present three unique drafts from you to chose. Change the tone and style (simple, long, short, professional, or casual), then export it to Gmail or Google Docs directly. Have some fun by asking Bard to compose a bedtime story that you can read aloud to your children.

4. Evaluate your alternatives

Make comparisons for a variety of topics, including important facts to help you better understand them and select the best solutions for you. For example, you can question, “What are the pros and cons of buying a leather couch?” and even pin the response to conveniently refer back to it later.

5. Begin a project

Take on a new endeavor with the assistance of Bard. You can, for example, ask it to assist you in planning a surprise retirement party for a coworker or to build a four-week fitness plan to get you in shape for a 5K run.

6. Generate code

People are still using Bard to help them with coding chores, such as explaining code snippets. This is especially useful if you’re studying programming for the first time or need extra help understanding what a block of code might output.

7. Arrange a trip

Have a vacation planned? Allow Bard to assist you with the planning. Request information on a certain place or have it create an itinerary with all of the activities and sights you want to see. You can further personalize your itinerary by adding more information, such as: “Start a trip planning doc for me and friends — we’re visiting Ireland for a week in the spring and want to go on a road trip.” Bard also offers visuals in its responses to help you understand where you’re going. You can also share its reaction with others.

8. Create a list of inventive ideas

If you’re facing a creative difficulty, Bard can be a good place to start. If you’re an artist, for example, you might ask Bard to suggest a new slogan for your studio, or you could submit a photo of your most recent work and ask Bard to help you come up with a title.

9. Improve your ability to articulate your thoughts and feelings

We’ve all had those moments when we’re trying to explain a concept but can’t quite find the appropriate words. Bard can serve as your personal editor, assisting you in organizing your thoughts and making language and grammar suggestions. For example, you could request that Bard draft a message apologizing for being unable to attend a friend’s wedding, or you could just ask Bard, “What’s a better way to say…?”

10. simply converse

To utilize Bard, you don’t need to have a specific project in mind. You might simply have fun by asking Bard to tell you a joke or discussing your hobbies and interests. You may even request that Bard play your favorite character and converse with them.

Remember: Don’t be hesitant to ask follow-up questions to get the most out of Bard. A back-and-forth chat can help you better grasp Bard’s comments, learn more about a topic, and have a more fruitful conversation.
