Sultan Al Neyadi, a United Arab Emirates (UAE) astronaut currently on a six-month space mission to the International Space Station (ISS), provided a breathtaking image of the Himalayas from space.
Mr Al Neyadi took to Twitter on Saturday to share photos of the snow-covered Himalayas, which he describes as “iconic landmarks of our planet’s rich nature.”
Mr Al Neyadi shared the photographs on X, formerly Twitter. The mountains with clouds can be seen in both photographs. Everyone on the internet has been blown away by the breathtaking view.
He captioned the post as, “The Himalayas from space. Home to the Everest summit, the highest point above sea level on earth, these mountains are one of the iconic landmarks of our planet’s rich nature.”

Mr Al Neyadi showed a spectacular night-time view of Dubai from orbit in May. He posted photos of Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah, Jebel Ali, and residential districts such as the Jumeirah Village Circle. “Dubai shines almost as bright as the stars up here,” wrote the astronaut in the post’s caption.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, also tweeted the captivating image on his Twitter account. He characterised the image as “an incredible photograph of Dubai taken by Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi.”

In addition, he stated that the image “paints a picture of the nation’s extraordinary achievements both on Earth and beyond.”
