‘In Honduras we live like kings,’ says young Catracha after trip to Asian country

A young Honduran content creator shared a video on TikTok this Monday stating that “here in Honduras we live like kings,” after comparing the country to Palestine.

Nicole Ictech (@elartedenike), who is half Honduran and half Palestinian, made a comparison between both nations after traveling to the Asian country in 2022.

“In other words, truly here in Honduras we live like kings (…) after that trip I came away changed,” were the words with which she began her message.

According to the young artist, she made a “mistake” by not comparing the two countries first, as she assures that, although neither is a paradise, Honduras is much better.

“We live well, we can move freely. I have a family since they don’t have a passport, they have to get a special paper. There are people who are born inside the wall and have never crossed it,” he argued.

Likewise, he indicated that several Palestinian people, including their relatives, do not know the sea since they cannot move safely through their territory.

When making the comparison with how in the Central American country people move freely, the young woman stated that “for me, Honduras is paradise.”

His comment was not very well received by Internet users, who argued that poverty in Honduras is greater than 70%, according to official reports.

“As kings? If you have money anywhere in the world is a paradise”; “I have always said it, in Honduras we live in glory compared to other countries” and “Only those who have traveled and know different countries know what he is talking about,” one can read.
