NK Gangadharan, a Kerala native living in Kozhikode, recently won the unexpected lottery jackpot. Even after winning the lottery and finding out that his luck had yielded big numbers, Gangadharan kept his mouth sealed until he handed it over to the bank. He feared that people would try to steal or recover crumbs of his jackpot.

The night crorepati was a bus driver for 33 years. But four years ago, Gangadharan changed careers and opened a lottery ticket shop. The win was a pretty sweet surprise for the man because, in the last four years as a lottery ticket agent, it was the first time in his experience that he had struck gold and won the jackpot.
Interestingly, it was also the first time his store had won a jackpot in the four years it had been in business. Also, along with the lottery agent’s jackpot, six others who had bought tickets from the shop pocketed Rs 5,000 won in the lottery. Gangadharan’s store, called Devika’s Store, is located near the Atholi Gram Panchayat office in Kozhikode.

However, it was not the first time that women raised money for a raffle of this type. The women’s group had earlier tried to win a prize with such a fund, but never imagined that they would win big with a prize of Rs 10 million.
