Survivors of Hamas’ deadly attack on Israel on October 7 say “drastic” measures are needed to stop the terrorist group from indoctrinating Gaza’s children with its twisted and violent worldview.
“It’s not enough for us to get rid of Hamas,” said Adele Raemer, 68, who spent 14 hours locked in the safe room of her home while Hamas terrorists burned Kibbutz Nirim to the ground around her.
“Something very drastic will have to happen to reeducate anyone living on the other side, so that the threat is neutralized,” he told The Post.
An educator in Israel for more than four decades, Raemer frequently volunteered in educational initiatives with Palestinian teachers over the years and has seen the kind of ideas imprinted in classrooms by the Hamas regime on children in Gaza.
“These children are taught hate in their textbooks. They are taught: ‘If you have six Jews and you kill four of them, how many Jews do you have left?’ literally,” she said.
Hamas textbooks have been widely criticized for distorting and fabricating facts about the history of Palestinians and Israel, as well as promoting an anti-Semitic worldview that frames anyone who dies in a conflict with Israel as a “martyr.”

Maya Parizer, 27, used to sympathize with the plight of Gaza children during the conflict with Israel in 2014 (she even argued on their behalf during heated arguments with friends at the time), but was left wondering: “Is there hope in the world?” her after surviving the massacre at the Nova Festival on October 7.
“Those children, those innocent children that I debated and fought with with my friends, saying ‘They are innocent, they just want to live life the way you like it,’ are today’s terrorists.”
Hamas is known for indoctrinating children against Israel not only in classrooms, but also in militarized summer camps where they wear uniforms, learn to shoot weapons and receive training in military tactics, according to the Times of Israel.

“They were the ones who kidnapped my friends, they were the ones who wanted to kill as many of us as possible,” Parizer said.
“How can I still have faith that they are good people there, when I see what they have done to my friends, what they have done to the women, what they have done to the children?” she added. “I still care, even though I don’t think they deserve it.”
Hamas is known for indoctrinating young Palestinians against Israel at a young age with violent militarized propaganda.
Raemer said that people around the world who have demonstrated for the Palestinians – carrying signs that read “By any means necessary” and chanting “From the river to the sea…” – do not understand that the enemy of the Palestinians does not It is Israel, but the extremist ideology of Hamas and its exploitative government.
“It’s about supporting the oppressed, supporting the oppressed. But what they don’t understand is that the oppressed are, first and foremost, oppressed by their own leaders,” he stated.
“We have to get rid of Hamas, not only for ourselves, but also for the sake of the Palestinian people.
“For the people who live where I live, [it’s] in their best interest so that the people on the other side prosper. And we’ve been saying it all along. But when they say “Palestine will be free, from the river to the sea”, [meaning the eradication of Israel] We have to understand that it is a genocidal war cry, and I take them at their word.”

Netta Atzili, 20, whose parents were taken hostage by Hamas while he barricaded himself in their apartment armed with nothing more than a kitchen knife, said the terrorist group does not care about the lives of the Palestinian people, only their value as cannon fodder. in his desire to destroy Israel.
“I think it’s very important for people to understand that this is not Israel versus Palestine. It is Hamas against everything,” he said.
“It is terrible that the people of Palestine are dying because of our attacks. But Hamas knew this was going to happen. And not only did they know it, but they were counting on us killing their civilians as collateral damage, using them as human shields. “They place their supplies and infrastructure under hospitals in densely populated areas, in schools.”
“They are a cancer for society, they would extort, they would put their civilians at risk, they would do anything to harm us,” he said.
