Aditi Tripathi, 10, has visited 50 countries around the world before spending a decade on the planet. Not only has she seen the things that people often write about in her diaries, but she has also done it without missing a single day of school.

While people might think that this remarkable feat of traveling to 50 countries around the world can only be accomplished by a full-time traveler, the Tripathi family is out to prove these assumptions wrong.

Aditi Tripathi has traversed most of Europe, reaching as far afield as Malaysia and Thailand in the course of her travels. The globe-trotting boy’s father, Deepak, and mother, Avilasha, decided early on that they wanted his son to be a well-travelled person. They wanted him to experience the world without losing any progress in school.

So they devised a plan. Now the family travels by plane every school vacation, making sure to take advantage of the holidays as well. The Greenwich couple spend nearly £20,000 (more than Rs 21 lakhs) a year to finance these trips.

The couple work as accountants and believe it is worth every penny for Aditi to understand different cultures, foods and people. The father recounted how, “She is curious and excited to see different cultures like her in Nepal, India and Thailand.”

The couple began these trips when Aditi was three years old and still in nursery school. They went to Germany. Back then, she used to go to school two and a half days a week. “Now we pick her up directly from school on Friday and take an overnight flight back around 11pm on Sunday,” Deepak wrote.
