Birth and early life
Jigna Jitendra Vora was born in 1974 in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. She obtained a law degree from DG Ruparel College and a diploma in mass communications from KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai. Her journey into crime journalism began with the guidance of her faculty member, Velly Thevar, a well-known crime reporter.
After getting married in 1998 and then separating from her husband, Jigna returned to her maternal home in Garodia Nagar, Ghatkopar, with her four-year-old son. As a single mother, she decided to pursue a career in media.

Jigna Vora began her media career as a court reporter at the Free Press Journal in 2005. She covered high-profile cases, including the trial of gangster Abu Salem.
