Career
Leena joined Unilever as a management student at Hindustan Unilever. From 1992 to 2007 she held various positions in factories, sales and head office of Hindustan Unilever. She has been appointed as the Chief Human Resources Officer of Hindustan Unilever Limited. In 2013, she served as Senior Vice President of the Human Resources and Organizational Development Division and Global Chief Diversity Officer. She was nominated for Director of Human Resources and Executive Leadership Committee at Unilever in 2016.
Undertook other responsibilities including non-executive member of the board – BT PLC, member of the board – Leverhulme Trust, member of the steering committee – Future of Education, Gender and Work, WEF, in 2017, member of the council of leadership – International Women’s Research Center in 2019, NED at the UK Government’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) from 2018 to 2020. Leena Nair was appointed CEO of Chanel in 2021.
