Live updates from Trump’s New York fraud trial: Former president slams Biden’s Israel trip as ‘political’

Donald Trump returned to a Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday to attend proceedings in the $250 million fraud trial against him.

Trump, 77, has partial gag orders in two of the five main court cases against him (four criminal and one civil).

In this fraud case, Judge Arthur Engoron issued the limited gag order on Oct. 3, the second day of the trial, after Trump personally attacked the judge’s chief law clerk, Allison Greenfield, in a Truth Social post. which has already been eliminated. The former president is specifically prohibited from publicly disparaging Greenfield or other court staff.

On Monday, a federal judge placed Trump under a partial gag order in the unrelated Jan. 6 federal case, in which the former commander in chief is accused of election interference. U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan ruled that Trump cannot make statements criticizing prosecutors, court staff or their families, or discuss potential witnesses or testimony.

The $250 million Manhattan fraud case against the former president is a bench trial, so Judge Engoron, not a jury, will decide Trump’s fate in this lawsuit.

Trump, his sons Eric and Don Jr. and the Trump Organization are accused of a decades-long scheme, in the case brought by AG James.
