A woman from Malaysia named Angeline Francis picked her boyfriend over a lot of money that her family would give her. She was going to get about Rs. 2,484 crore. Her dad is a prominent businessman, Khoo Kay Peng, and her mom used to be Miss Malaysia, Pauline Chai.
Instead of staying with her family and helping with their business later, she chose to marry her boyfriend, Jedidiah Francis.
When Angeline told her parents about her relationship with Jedidiah, her dad disagreed because they had different amounts of money. So, she chose to leave her parents and start a new life with her boyfriend.
They married in 2008 and have lived independently, away from their families.
After that, Angeline went to court to discuss her parents’ divorce. She said good things about her mom and how she held the family together while her dad ran the business.
