Maitreyi Ramakrishnan was born on December 29, 2001 to Ram Selvarajah and Kiruthiha Kulendiren in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. He has a brother named Vishwaa Ramakrishnan. Maitreyi completed his studies at Meadowvale High School, Canada. He deferred his acceptance to New York University’s theater program for his acting project. After his studies, he began auditioning for movies and shows.

Career
Maitreyi started learning acting from the 10th grade at his school. She became part of the school production Footloose and played a lead role. Her first professional acting role came in 2020 in the Netflix drama series Never Have I Ever. In 2019, she auditioned for an open casting call for the show and was selected out of 15,000 candidates who applied to audition. She also made an appearance in one of the episodes of the television show called Sidewalks Entertainment in 2020. Maitreyi narrated the children’s programming portion of the 8th Canadian Screen Awards. She also received the Independent Spirit Award nomination in 2021 for her role in Never Have I Ever. She is working on her current project The Netherfield Girls which will air on Netflix.
