Jasmine Mary Joseph (popularly known as Meera Jasmine) is an Indian film actress famous for her roles in Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam and Ore Kadal. She also received the National Film Award for Best Actress in 2004 for her performance in Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam. She is the recipient of the Kerala State Film Award, the Kalaimamani Award and the Tamil Nadu State Film Award. Meera has worked in more than 50 films, mostly in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
Birth and early life
Meera Jasmine was born on February 15, 1982 in Kuttapuzha village in Thiruvalla, Kerala. Her parents are Joseph Philip and Aleyamma Joseph. She has 4 brothers. Her sisters Jiby Sara Joseph and Jeny Susan Joseph are actresses and one of her brothers, George, is a photography assistant. Meera is married to a Dubai-based engineer, Anil John Titus.
Meera has attended Bala Vihar, Thiruvalla and Marthoma Residential School, Thiruvalla. She studied Zoology at Assumption College, Changanassery.

Career
Meera started her acting career with the Malayalam film Soothradharan in 2001. The following year she debuted in the Tamil film industry with the film Run. Ammayi Bagundi is her first film in Telugu. She made her debut in the Kannada film industry with Maurya in 2004.
Meera rose to fame for her role as Shahina in Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam. She won the National Film Award, Kerala State Film Award, Kerala Film Critics Association Awards, Asianet Film Awards and Mathrubhumi Film Awards for Best Actress for the film. Meera has acted in several films like Bhadra, Arasu, Ore Kadal, Calcutta News, Mariyadhai, Hoo, Ladies and Gentleman, Ithinumappuram and more. She will appear in the Malayalam film Makal in 2022.
