Kelsey Hatcher is a 32-year-old American woman who gave birth to twins.
What exactly happened?
The woman with a rare double uterus gave birth twice in two days after a “one in a million” pregnancy and 20 hours of labour.
The daughters were born at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital.
Following the announcement of the birth of her “miracle babies,” Kelsey Hatcher took to social media to praise the medical staff as “amazing.”
The girls have unusually different birthdays and are twins.

Kelsey reported that the family was back home for the holidays following the double birth.
I previously hoped to receive it before Christmas.
According to UAB, Kelsey was told at the age of 17 that she had uterine didelphys, also known as a double uterus, a rare congenital disorder that affects 0.3% of women.
Additionally, according to the UAB, there was a one in a million chance of having a dual pregnancy or becoming pregnant in both wombs.
Three of Kelsey Hatcher’s previous pregnancies ended happily.
This time she believed she was pregnant with a single uterus.
A few weeks into her fourth pregnancy, Kelsey noticed some bleeding.

Since women who have two uteruses are more likely to miscarry, she made an appointment for her first ultrasound.
After the UAB ultrasound revealed positive results, Kelsey requested to have a second uterus examined for peace of mind.
It turned out that there was a baby inside.
Kelsey’s obstetrician, Shweta Patel, MD, an assistant professor in the UAB Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, was baffled by the finding until she was able to review the scans herself.
Although it is not uncommon for women with two uteruses to give birth in one (Kelsey had already given birth three times), the chances of giving birth to a child with both uteruses or with a cavity pregnancy are estimated at one in a million.

On Tuesday, December 19 at 7:49 pm Roxi Layla (1st Daughter) was born.
Her sister, Rebel Laken (second daughter), arrived on Wednesday, December 20 at 6:09 am.

An obstetrician at the University of Alabama told the BBC that the mother and twins were doing well, noting that most people in his field spend their entire careers never witnessing this situation.
