For those who spent the weekend moping about worries about Monday, Sunday was a legendary day for the Indian cricket team. During the team’s last match against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023, India virtually swept the Sri Lankan team at home.

Mohammed Siraj earned all the glory after sheltering Sri Lanka for just 50 runs. Siraj took six wickets during his time with the ball and gave only a paltry 21 runs to the opposition. India held the Asia Cup title after five years of being sidelined and missing out on victory.
Although this was India’s eighth win in the Asia Cup, it could well be considered their biggest win of the championship in terms of balls remaining as they claimed victory with 263 balls remaining.
With the bowlers led by Siraj taking charge of the entire Sri Lankan team in astonishing time, it was very easy for the batsmen to get the victory that was practically handed to them. Shubman Gill scored 27 quick runs, with Ishan Kishan making 23 runs in just a quick bat of 6.1 overs.

While the match was a treat for Indian cricket fans, Sri Lankan fans were in for a rude awakening. To celebrate this six-wicket wonder that left most fans speechless, Delhi Police came out on Twitter, now X.
Fans had a blast over the weekend. Twitter was full of memes and one-liners. Delhi Police joined in the joy and announced, “There will be no speed tests for #Siraj today.”
