For Nokia, today has been quite eventful. The formerly renowned phone maker appears to be implementing long-needed reforms. One of them involves the brand of the company. Nokia finally came up with a globally recognizable logo. Details are as follows.
Nokia changes the iconic logo
As part of its efforts to accelerate market expansion, Nokia has launched a new corporate identity, which includes an updated version of its logo. This change was made public. It’s been almost sixty years since Nokia last changed its emblem, making this occasion a particularly momentous one. The new Nokia logo consists of five different shapes that spell “NOKIA”. The previous color scheme, which was blue, has been replaced with a new logo that incorporates a variety of hues depending on the context in which it will be used.
The rebranding that Nokia has implemented reflects the company’s increased concentration on the business technology market. Pekka Lundmark, CEO of the company, stressed that the past link with cell phones is no longer the main focus of the business. During an interview with Reuters, he said the company has transitioned to a commercial technology role. We can conclude that the corporation will not enter the smartphone market again.
Although some may think that Nokia still produces mobile phones, this is not true. HMD Global is the company that makes the phones sold under the Nokia brand, while Nokia is simply a brand.
