Two parents who recently took their children to a pub restaurant for dinner have been chastised online after it was revealed that they made “zero attempts” to prevent their children from flinging food around while they ate and then made no effort to clean it up before they left.
A fellow diner at the pub humiliated the family by publishing a picture of the mess they had made online, which showed chips spread all over the floor beneath the table they had been eating at. The post rapidly went viral, with hundreds of commenters condemning the family’s “disrespectful” actions.
The diner from Australia posted the photo to Reddit with the message, “Is this OK now?” “A family at a local pub let their child throw food all over the place with no attempt to stop them, then left it for staff to clean up.”

From Dining To Disturbance: Parents Slammed For Letting Kids Throw Food
The incident sparked a heated debate on social media platforms about appropriate parenting and public decorum. Many people were upset by the parents’ behavior, emphasizing the necessity of training youngsters to be respectful of general settings and aware of their fellow patrons. On the other hand, some readers questioned whether the restaurant might have taken better precautions to prevent such behaviour.

Commenters were quick to condemn the family for their conduct, but many argued that such behaviour has always occurred and that it has only recently become more popular. “Now?” one individual asked.
“I despise parents like this,” said another. “We went to [a restaurant] the other day, and I cleaned the high chair after we used it, as well as the table. I would never allow my children to fling their food everywhere. It’s just so disrespectful, and I would never expect someone else to clean up after us,” a third wrote.
Others related their experiences working in restaurants and pubs, saying they’ve regularly had to warn children to stop rushing between tables, and parents chastised them for it.
“I’ve even had parents yell at me for telling their children not to run around the dining room or put their shoes away if they’re going barefoot,” one person said.
